It was whimsical and fun and definitely a movie to empower young girls. He may get some critics who wanted the story to be fuller, but I think this was one of those movies he made for kids and I think it was perfect. If there was anymore "story" to it, it would bore kids (think Where the Wild Things Are). Just my two cents. And that Alice video used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid.
