What have you been watching?
I think the 2009-2010 television season has been a great one. My husband and I have set several new series recordings on our DVR, and here are a few of the new shows that we enjoy.
This is the funniest show I’ve seen since Arrested Development. The dialogue is hilarious, and we find ourselves rewinding scenes and watching them again. Also, I think Gloria is the greatest mom ever.
I loved the revamped Battlestar Galactica, and although this prequel has a very different tone, it explores some really intriguing subjects in a new way. Also, it has the single greatest opening title sequence that I have ever seen on a television show.
I love this show because it’s the O.C., but with vampires, and I like vampires, ok? Damon Salvatore is wonderfully snarky, and the music is phenomenal.
This is another fun sci-fi show. It explores fate and choice and whether we can change our future. And it’s got a nice dose of mystery to it.
I love Joel McHale. I love him on The Soup, and I went to see him do stand up in Indy last year, and he was hilarious (Fun fact: Jared the Subway guy was sitting a few rows in front of me). But he is not the only reason that I love this show. I am a huge fan of the “bromance” as seen on Scrubs between Turk and J.D., and also on Psych between Shawn and Gus. And the same goes for the relationship between Abed and Troy. I can’t get enough of those two.
So to sum things up, I watch a lot of TV. What new shows are you folks into this season?

Couldn’t agree more with Caprica and Community!
Shows I’m still watching, but don’t really want to anymore: The Office and LOST.
Oh Ben, say it ain’t so about LOST! I’m loving this season, especially this past week’s episode! But I do agree with you about The Office–I think that show may have run its course.
Vampire Diaries is amazing! And, yes, I am almost 30 but have the taste of a 13 yr old girl.
And Community. How I love that show. The mascot is the most disturbing/hilarious thing I have ever seen.
Yes Community. Abed and Troy are amazing. I think Chevy Chase is so creepy and perfect. I love a legend like him will play a part like that. And Senor Chang. Oh MY!
Modern Family is so smart.
We liked the 1st Parenthood episode too. I think a lot of people assumed it was going to be like Arrested Development, since it had Ron Howard and the girl who played Ann (Annabell, cause she’s shaped like a bell). It has more of a serious tone, but we liked it. We need to catch up on the other episodes.
We also watched the first Caprica, but didn’t fall in love with it.
Oh and also I love to watch Glee. And I don’t care who knows it.
Sarah,
We did not like the first episode of Caprica either, but the subsequent episodes have been much better.
Modern family is the best new show. Every character is amazing. We are super impressed with the cast and the writing.
We still love survivor, and we don’t care who knows that either. This season is the best. Villians vs. Heroes. Pure entertainment.
